What is highline?

Slacklining is the art of balancing on a flat rope (webbing) just above the ground. Typically, you anchor the webbing between two trees in a park over a distance of 10 to 30 meters. We refer to it as highlining when the webbing is suspended so high that falling safely without additional protection is no longer possible. Due to the height, you not only need balance skills but also mental determination. Highlines are less limited in length compared to slacklines. If there is sufficient height, a highline can be set up to span over a kilometer. The highlines in godsheide are 60m high and 210m long.

What is speed highline?

In speed highline or speedlining, the winner is the person who can run the fastest between two points on the highline. The competition distance is usually 100 meters. A minimum of two parallel lines are set up, allowing athletes to race against each other. This ensures that both competing athletes face the same weather conditions (e.g., the same wind strength) on the highline.
